At Back to Health Chiropractic our examinations procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the "Vertebral Subluxation" (click on this link for more information on subluxations). The procedures our Doctors use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health. There are a couple of things that you should expect when you have a first visit at our office.
Our examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes:
1. Palpation Palpation essentially is checking your spine by hand. With this exam the doctor can feel areas of your spine that may be involved with subluxations problems. Spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible spinal subluxations.
2. Postural Examination Abnormal posture can mean an abnormal spine and the presence of Vertebral Subluxation. Your posture is the window to the spine and careful examination of posture can reveal exactly how to correct the Subluxations present in your spine.
3. X-ray In certain cases, X-ray is necessary to determine the severity of the damage that has been caused by Subluxation. The longer a spine has had Subluxation and abnormal posture, the more serious the degenerative changes and decay will be to the individual spinal vertebra (bones).
4. Orthopedic, Neurologic and Chiropractic Tests When necessary, you will receive the most appropriate clinical tests required to properly diagnose your condition and determine if Subluxation is present. If necessary, referral to another healthcare physician may be necessary.
We have set aside specific times for the visits that review your Report of Findings and Report of Doctor's Recommendations so as not to interfere with regular patient care hours. You will be scheduled for your Report of Findings following your initial visit. Our patients are pleased that we can review their findings and recommendations for treatment immediately following their first visit.
